If your GP has referred you to a specialist, you can make your own appointment at one of our outpatient clinics. The GP will give you a referral letter for the specialist.
Please consult the Waiting time overview (in Dutch) to find out how long the waiting time for an appointment at the outpatient clinic will be. The waiting time is stated in weeks.
It is important that you are prepared for your visit to the outpatient clinic. It is helpful to think about what you would like to ask your doctor before coming to the hospital. Let your doctor know what your expectations regarding treatment are.
If it is your first visit to our hospital, you will need to have your patient card made at the reception desk. This 'card' is a sticker containing a bar code. Your personal details, such as your family name, date of birth and insurance details, will be recorded onto it.
If there is a change to your personal details (if you change your address or GP, for example) then you should also report this to the outpatient clinic reception desk.
If you need to change or cancel your appointment because you are unexpectedly prevented from keeping it, please let us know as soon as possible. You can telephone the outpatient clinic you planned to visit in order to change or cancel your appointment. If you have not cancelled your appointment 24 hours in advance, the hospital may charge a non-attendance fee of € 50,-.
Let us know in good time if you cannot keep your appointment. Then we can let somebody else make use of the time reserved for you.
